Career Opportunities

Our Organizational Capabilities

It is critical to our future success that we build our organizational capabilities in 4 areas:

  • People
  • External Focus
  • Innovation
  • Performance

People

We know that people make the difference.

This means that we treat each other with respect, support eachothers efforts, and work at delivering superior results. We want our associates to take pride in working at Novartis and to have fun in doing so. This requires inspiring leaders at all levels who fully utilise the talent and diversity of their fellow associates. We invest to attract and retain leaders, professionals, and to develop our associates. We value competence, professionalism, and a positive attitude. We recognize and reward high performance. At every level of the organization, we want our people to become "best-of-class". By fostering teamwork and collaboration, we can enhance learning throughout the organization. Thus, we promote interaction across functions, geographies and hierarchy's.

We value candour, trust and integrity, and we recognize the importance of open, continuous communication.

External Focus

Our focus is decidedly external - on customers, markets, competitors and technologies. This translates into an intimate knowledge of customers, their needs and preferences and an acquaintance with the competition, their products, strategies and tactics. It also means that we actively search for new opportunities, are immediately aware of threats, and rapidly apply and implement new technologies and ideas.

Innovation

Innovation is the driving force in our company. It enables us to create new, cutting-edge products, processes and technologies. Innovation is the result of professional competence, creativity, motivation, and the right to make mistakes and take calculated risks - all patterns that are fundamental to us.

Performance

We strive to achieve world-class results, based on ambitious targets, and aim at the highest performance standards. We achieve this through initiative, decisiveness, perseverance and flexibility. We thrive on competitive challenge, measure our results and benchmark our performance in terms of that of our major competitors. We see change as an opportunity and stability as a necessary ingredient.
